How to Download OpenSceneryX
You use the OpenSceneryX Installer to install the library. The installer is a small desktop application which you download first. When you run it, the installer checks your local OpenSceneryX version and works out which files are missing. It then downloads what is necessary to bring it up to date.
The latest version of the installer is always available from the OpenSceneryX home page and the release notes for the latest version of the library are available here.

I have uninstalled OpenSceneryX by deleting the folder, but WED is still referring in the Forest object to the OpenSceneryX library. Should I change/delete more stuff?
Your support is much appreciated!
WED itself doesn’t refer to OpenSceneryX objects, but scenery packages you open in WED may do. So you’ll need to find out which scenery packages are using OpenSceneryX and move those out of your X-Plane folder.
Hello,
I try to install OpenSceneryX in a Windows 10 (64 bit) environment via the installer (version 2.1.0b3) . The program guides me through the set up but when it asks me to select the path to x-plane 11’s custom scenery folder it does not recognize it finally. Can you help me, please?
best regards
Jan
Hi Jan, apologies for the delay in responding. When selecting the path, you should select the top-level X-Plane folder, not the Custom Scenery folder.
To anyone who fail to initiate the installer on Windows 7, I was able to install the package with “Run as administrator” option, hope this will help our fellow XPlane fans!
Thank you aussi, although I haven’t tried the sceneries which use your asset yet, I appreciate the effort you put into this.
Thank you very much for posting your findings – I’ll pass this on if others have problems with Win 7.
Hi guys,
Notice that in a strange manner, on 7-Zip (https://www.7-zip.org/) the decompression of the Windows Zip does not generate the binary installation file. The default Windows 10 Zip extractor works fine. FYI.
Thanks for the heads-up Yaniv. I hadn’t heard this before, but will add it to the FAQs section in case others encounter it.
Trying to get the latest version OpenSceneryx. Downloaded new installer and it indicates files installed but no file to be found in my custom scenery (or anywhere else). The installer shows up fine wherever I place it – now in the custom scenery file. I’ve watched installation videos and checked forum comments and seem to have done everything correctly but the file just does not show up. Is there a link to manually download the file? (Found an old one but page won’t open). Using Windows10 and latest xp11. Any suggestions appreciated.
What happens when you run the installer? Does it get right to the end and report that the installation was successful, showing a large green “tick”?
Hello team
mt 2.6.0 installer crashes at the very initrial step when I run the installer.exe file (even as administrator).
Any suggestions?
OS. Windows10
xPlane version: 11.35
Thanks in advance for help.

This has been reported by users a couple of times, but usually it somehow manages to fix itself before it can be investigated further. Have you tried re-running it since the initial failure?
Also, can you clarify whether the installer launches and shows its window, or fails to launch at all? If it launches, at which step does it crash and does it show any error messages?
Hi,
magic happens !
After several attempts over the past 3 days, eventually today the installer started and it’s now running properly, without any change.
Thanks for reply, anyway.
D.
Strange, that’s another case of the problem mysteriously fixing itself – you’re the third or fourth person to report this on Win 10 but I’ve never seen it myself in testing.
Glad it’s working for you now!
Hello. After opening opensceneryx, shadows under trees and vegetation do not appear. I think it causes flyagi_vegetation library integrated into opensceneryx. Is this graphical problem that does not display shadows under trees and vegetation somehow solve?
Hi, yes Agi changed this in the latest version of the FlyAgi Vegetation library, due to unacceptable rendering of shadows on vegetation in X-Plane.
This is a pity, because I like it very much with the shadows under the trees and vegetation. I managed to put it into a flood state and it looks amazing. 😉
I’ll have a word with her to see what the problems were with the shadows, as it may be better to enable them in OpenSceneryX so that all the vegetation consistently casts shadows.
I agree with you and I hope it will be turned on for the next update.
Hi,
Is there any chance to get older version of Open scenery x? Im running on OSX 10.9.5 and upgrade scares me, as Im running some other important soft. And if it breaks and I need to reinstall it all…Its just killing. 😀
Thx for reply. And. You are doing nice job. 🙂
Thank you very much for the compliment, it is much appreciated. I’ll contact you directly.
Hi – I tried to download Open Scenery and when I run it, I get the following error message: “The code execution cannot proceed because XojoGUIFramework64.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem”.
Can anyone help, please? Thanks.
Hi Sam. Yes, your problem and the solution is described on the FAQs page here.
