X-Plane® Facades are used to build physical items in your scenery, but as opposed to objects, which are a fixed shape and size, a facade allows you to specify your own shape and size when placing it.
This is because facades are defined as a texture, a set of wall definitions and sometimes roof definitions too. Complex facades can even contain objects embedded. When you place a facade in your scenery, you extrude it along a path of your choosing. Facades can also contain variations in walls and floors, giving options for a lot more variety from a single item.
